Transformation using orchestra lifts and stage lifts

The proscenium theatre at the Kauffman Center is designed with a soaring stage tower and state-of-the-art rigging and lift technology. This setup allows sets and equipment to be raised, lowered, or completely flown out of view, offering exceptional versatility for opera, ballet, and other large-scale performances.

Situated in the heart of downtown Kansas City, Missouri, the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts brings together a world-class proscenium theater and an acoustically refined concert hall. More than a cultural landmark, it acts as a driving force for social engagement, educational opportunities, and economic growth, enriching both the city and the surrounding region.

Voices from the Project

From the outset, we wanted a hall that was intimate and in which the public is engaged with the musicians in a feeling of embrace.
