Transformation using seating lifts

PAC NYC is engineered for flexibility, transforming from a 99-seat intimate space to a 472-seat theater-in-the-round or a 737-seat end-thrust with two balconies—thanks to removable platforms, seating lifts, movable towers, retractable doors, and modular balconies.

PAC NYC has three flexible, intimate performance spaces. Automated walls and flexible seating systems enable numerous configurations that create a range of unique experiences for audiences and artists.

Voices from the Project

He [Joshua Ramus] refers to the building as a “mystery box,” alluding to the three exquisitely engineered, shape-shifting theaters tucked inside it. Small, medium, and large, […] they can be combined and reshuffled into more than 60 configurations, their floors raked or flat, balconies collapsed or thrust, walls moved, stages lowered.
