Stage Lifts

LIFT SYSTEMS

Elevating the Experience: Stage Lift Essentials

Stage lifts are located on stage behind the proscenium and are usually centered on the stage.

There could be a single lift or multiple lifts placed in adjacent configurations.  Stage lifts are often used during performances and may be used to transport performers.

Advanced Stage Lift Systems for Dynamic Scenic Design

Stage lifts may also be designed to travel above the stage level to achieve dramatic design requirements

Because of the performance requirements, stage lifts will generally be required to move at faster speeds and may also require variable speed capabilities.  In multiple lifts configurations synchronous movement among the lifts may also be required.

Speed

Though it could be variable, maximum speeds are usually in the 20 to 60 ft/min (6 to 18 m/min) range and will require ramp starts and stops.

Capacity

Loading is similar to orchestra lifts with 150 lb/ft² (≈ 732 kg/m²) for a live static capacity and 50 lb/ft² (≈ 244 kg/m²) for a live dynamic load. Higher loads are achievable and may be required depending on project.
